The Solid Creation System (SCS) is a leading-edge laser modeling system, in which UV curable resin (DESOLITE) is laminate-formed using a laser beam according to 3-D CAD data. Using this technique it is possible to create a real model with the exact same dimensions as those of a 3-D CAD-designed model in a short time.
The SCS has been jointly developed; the hardware and software have been created by Sony Manufacturing Systems Corporation, the JSR Corporation has developed the UV curable resin, and the forming and applied technology have been developed by D-MEC Ltd.
